Worship ::

Come to First-Faith on Sunday for the 9:30 a.m. service — Pastor Trudy will continue preaching on the “Redemption of Scrooge” sermon series.

At Trinity, Pastor Kelly will continue preaching on the “Get Ready” sermon series during the Saturday, Dec. 17 worship at 6 p.m. Pastor Russ will continue preaching about “The Gift” at both services on Sunday, Dec. 18. 

Christmas Services ::

First-Faith UMC 
* A quiet & peaceful Blue Christmas service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 6-7 p.m.
* Christmas Eve services will be held at 5 & 7  p .m. on Dec. 24.
* A Christmas morning service will be held at 9:30 a.m.
First-Faith is located at 4190 Capital Avenue in Grand Island.

Trinity UMC
Christmas Eve services will be held at 5, 7 & 10 p.m. on Dec. 24.
*A Christmas morning service will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Trinity is located at 511 N. Elm in Grand Island.

Mark your calendars ::

The Trinity Chancel Choir will be performing a Christmas Cantata, “The Promise of Light,” on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. Join us for traditional carols blended with original music, featuring the bell choir. This event is free and open to the public.

The First-Faith Sunday School children & youth shine brightly in this years’ Christmas Pageant performance of “A Star is Born.” The curtain goes up on Dec. 18 at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by a soup lunch hosted by the Footprints Youth Group. The free-will donation supports their 2017 mission trip.

Opportunities & Information ::

Hats & mittens decorate the tree in the Trinity Parlor to be donated to local children — feel free to keep adding! You can also choose a tag off the Children’s Ministries tree near the Sanctuary and drop off your donation at the office or place underneath the tree. The third tree is also by the Sanctuary, as a mission in partner with the Hassan Fund — you can pick up a stocking and make a donation! Come to the service this weekend to watch a Ministry Moments video on the projects.

Prime Timers is meeting Dec. 20. Games are at 10 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. The cost of this month’s meal is $5. Please RSVP with the office by Dec. 16.

Youth Activities ::

Footprints UMYF welcomes all 6th-12th graders to experience a deeper walk with God as we gather every Sunday evening from 5:45-7:30 p.m. for food, fun, and fellowship in the First-Faith Fellowship Hall!

Zone & Youth Group will be held from 7-8 p.m. this week on Wednesday at Trinity. Next Wednesday, Dec. 21, is the Zone Christmas Party in Miller Hall! Youth can bring a snack or drink to share and be sure to wear comfy clothes and tennis shoes.

There will be no nursery available during the Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services at Trinity. There will also be no Sunday School Dec. 25, and no Zone or Youth Group on Wednesday, Dec. 28. We hope this holiday break will allow you to enjoy your family & friends as we celebrate the birth of Jesus!

There will be a Blessing of the Toys for the children at Trinity’s 9:30 a.m. service on Christmas Day.

Sudanese Youth meet on Sundays at 1 pm in the Trinity Gathering Place. There will be an Arabic Sudanese Worship in Gollaher Chapel on Christmas at noon, though there will be no 1:00 p.m. Sunday School or Nursery on Dec. 25.

Study Groups ::

The Mathètè’s group meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.

ReCharge young adult group meets Tuesdays at 6:30 in The Gathering Place at Trinity.

Mom’s Group meets at 7:00 on Wednesdays in the Parlor.

The Men’s Study meets at 7:00 a.m. on Fridays at Tommy’s.

If you have any photographs from church events this past year, please send your top few to Kate at to potentially be used in a special Christmas Ministry Moments video.

If anyone is interested in helping with snow removal in the church parking lots for snowy winter days, please contact the church office at 382-1952.
