Yesterday, all three churches gathered for annual All Church Conferences to participate in the business of the church. Traditionally, these conferences are held each year under the supervision of the District Superintendent of the Prairie Rivers District of the United Methodist Church to hear reports of various committees, pastors and retired pastors, and to vote on things like pastoral compensation.
This year, all three congregations also considered the proposed covenant to join together in a more formal sense of cooperative parish. This covenant was affirmed by the three Conferences, and so UM4GI congregations will continue in this exciting journey.
UM4GI congregations are in new territory, cooperating in a unique way and working to better serve both members and the community of Grand Island. May God continue to guide and bless us as we seek to discern and do God’s will.
