As we strive to re-focus this holiday season, Mission Marketplace would like to help families direct their hearts toward the true reason for celebration this time of year.
Saturday, December 8, all ages are welcome to come and make a simple family Advent Wreath and/or Candy Nativity Scene. Each family will receive an Advent Devotional. Materials and refreshments will be provided. Come to First UMC whenever you are able between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Each project should take no more than a half-hour each. There is a $10 fee per Advent Wreath and $5 per Candy Nativity Scene to cover materials. Remaining funds will benefit Hope Harbor. Please sign up in any UM4GI office or on the Mission Marketplace Facebook page.
Love All & Give More
Opportunities abound for giving this season. If you are looking for creative projects that can be made and given to benefit mission causes, you might consider the Pink Slipper Project–make sewn or crocheted slippers to be given to homeless women and children, make simple crocheted hats or sewn smocks for premature infants in NICU’s, or assemble personal care packets for homeless individuals in our city. If you’d like to participate in the Pink Slipper Project, contact Mandy Smidt for more information.
