Luke 9:23

New International Version (NIV)

23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

This song is important to me because it voices how I feel about my faith. It is important to believe and understand what I believe but my personal faith needs action behind it. I can say I believe this or that and I hear it from other people but like the phrase “action speaks louder than words,” it does not always mean much unless you show people. This can bring up the debate of what is more important, faith or actions, and do you need actions to go to heaven but you have to answer that for yourself. I see my faith needing the actions. I would not feel like a follower if I ignored the call from God or Jesus. It also challenges me how I should live my daily life.

My challenge for you after listening to the song again is to journal about how it makes your feel and/or a discussion with someone else that has heard the song.  How do you see your faith?
