Advent begins this Sunday, which is a time to do two things: 1) celebrating God’s gifts to creation in the birth of Jesus, and 2) anticipate and live into God’s heaven-on-earth, eternal kingdom. These are the so-called reasons for the season, but the reality is that this season is often filled with a lot of stuff that can drain and overwhelm us.
With this in mind, we invite you to turn this season upside-down. In whatever ways you can, take control of this season and find ways to add meaning and value to your own lives and the lives of others.
To help, each day of Advent, I’ll post an idea or activity to inspire you to turn Christmas upside-down in your own families.
Together, let’s conspire to make Advent and Christmas life-giving for ourselves and others.
